Credits:
1. O Tannenbaum (Public Domain)
Benji offers a lovely instrumental rendition of "O Tannenbaum," a nineteenth century carol. The title is German for "O Christmas Tree."
2. The First Noel (Public Domain)
Sometimes referred to as "The First Nowell," this English Christmas song is taken for a ride on the roller-Cossa.
3. O Holy Night (Franz Gruber 1818. Public Domain)
That's John Walsh on the steel drums. He also recorded this.
4. Jesus Christ (Alex Chilton)
This is a Big Star song, written by Alex Chilton. It originally appeared on Big Star's third record often referred to as Third or Sister Lovers.
5. The Holly and the Ivy (Public Domain)
6. Praise to God for Our Redemption (Public Domain)
Benji learned many of these songs from a book called Divine and Moral Songs by Isaac Watts.
7. Friends and Family (B. Cossa)
Here's your title track, the only Benji original on this record. It was recorded by Devin Flynn.
8. Silent Night (Public Domain)
A Christmas classic, of course.
9. Silver Bells (Jay Livingston, Ray Evans)
That's Devin Flynn on the drums and the guitar solo. The Wikipedia entry for this song tells us that "Silver Bells" was introduced by Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell in a motion picture called The Lemon Drop Kid in 1951. The first recorded version was by Bing Crosby.

Mastered by Travis Harrison at Serious Business Music, NYC
Unless otherwise noted, everything on this record was done by Benji Cossa.

Don't forget about Between the Blue and the Green (SBR13), Benji's latest album of all original music.
